Single-modality practices chase the trending drug of the month. At Anova we practice integrated wellness — peptide therapy, aesthetics, sexual health, and weight management working as one plan. Here is why that matters for your results.
If you have searched for a med spa recently, you have probably noticed something: most practices lead with a single treatment. The GLP-1 shop down the street. The filler shop at the mall. The hormone clinic that prescribes one protocol and sends you on your way. Each of these can serve a specific need, but none of them is a plan.
At Anova Med Spa in Sheridan, Wyoming, we made a deliberate decision early on to practice integrated wellness instead. That means the same medical team coordinates peptide therapy, aesthetics and injectables, sexual health, and weight management around your labs, your goals, and your timeline — not around whichever service paid for the last Google ad.
This article explains what integrated wellness actually means, how it is different from single-modality trend chasing, and what an integrated intake at Anova looks like in practice.
The Short Version
Trend chasing is what happens when a clinic builds itself around one treatment and recommends it for everyone who walks in. Integrated wellness is what happens when a clinic builds itself around the patient and selects from multiple evidence-informed modalities to produce one coordinated plan.
Both approaches can produce results. Only one of them is medicine.
What Trend Chasing Looks Like
Trend-chasing practices tend to share a few recognizable patterns.
The GLP-1 Only Shop
You walk in, get a weight-loss prescription, lose the weight, leave. No discussion of why your weight changed, no plan to keep it off, no support for the muscle loss and metabolic slowdown that come with rapid loss. The clinic made a margin on the prescription; you made it home with a smaller body and the same habits that put the weight on in the first place.
The Filler Only Shop
You come in for lips or cheeks. You leave with lips and cheeks. The injector may be talented. They may not be. Either way, no one is asking why your skin looks the way it looks, whether a skin-quality treatment would produce a better result, or whether the volume they are adding is the right volume for your anatomy.
The Hormone Shop
One protocol for every man over 40, or one protocol for every woman in perimenopause. Labs at intake, prescription mailed, follow-up every six months if you ask. No coordination with the rest of your health, no plan for what to do when symptoms persist despite "normal" numbers.
The common thread: each of these practices has one answer to every question. That is not medicine — it is a service menu.
What Integrated Wellness Looks Like
Integrated wellness starts from a different premise. The question is not "which treatment should we sell you?" The question is "what is actually going on in your body, and what combination of modalities is most likely to move the needle?"
At Anova, that combination is built from four pillars.
Wellness and IV Therapy
Nutritional status, hydration, and recovery are the foundation. Our wellness and IV therapy menu includes nine custom IV formulas, NAD+ infusions, and intramuscular injections designed to support the basics — energy, immune function, post-workout recovery, and micronutrient repletion.
Peptide Therapy
For patients whose goals include healthy body composition, recovery support, sleep quality, healthy aging, or metabolic wellness, peptide therapy is offered as one option within a broader plan. Every protocol at Anova starts with a comprehensive medical evaluation and lab work where clinically indicated. No peptide is prescribed off the shelf, and no protocol is recommended without understanding the patient's full history.
Aesthetics and Injectables
Aesthetic outcomes look their best when the underlying canvas is healthy. Our aesthetics practice spans Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, dermaplaning, microneedling, laser hair removal, and skin-quality treatments. We sequence these around what your skin can actually tolerate and what will give you a result you can live with for the next three to twelve months — not just on the day of treatment.
Sexual Health
Sexual health is part of overall wellness, not a separate appointment. For men we offer P-shot and Scrowtox protocols. For women, O-shot and related treatments. We coordinate these with hormone evaluation when indicated so that sexual health outcomes are not pursued in isolation from the hormonal environment that drives them.
Weight Management
Weight management is integrated into the broader plan rather than run as a standalone service. When medical weight management is appropriate, we coordinate it with nutritional support, peptide therapy where indicated, and ongoing monitoring. The goal is a result the patient can sustain — not a number on a scale six weeks from now.
How the Pillars Work Together
The reason we structure our practice this way is that real results come from coordination. A few examples.
Weight loss plateau. A patient starts a medical weight loss protocol and loses weight predictably for eight weeks, then stalls. A trend-chasing practice might increase the dose or add another agent. Our team runs labs, evaluates recovery, considers whether a peptide protocol targeting metabolic wellness might support the next phase, and sequences aesthetic treatments (skin tightening, body-contouring aesthetics) around the patient's actual transformation timeline.
Perimenopause with aesthetic goals. A 48-year-old patient comes in for filler and leaves with filler — but the same patient might have a better outcome if her hormone plan were stabilized first, then aesthetic work sequenced around her skin's improved response to treatment. Integrated wellness means the hormone provider, the aesthetic provider, and the patient are all working from the same plan.
Postpartum recovery. A new mother wants energy support, body composition guidance, and aesthetic work around changes she is seeing in her skin and hair. The integrated plan addresses all three — IV therapy and micronutrient support, weight management if appropriate, and skin-quality treatments like microneedling scheduled around her recovery — rather than treating each as a separate transaction.
The point is not that every patient needs every pillar. The point is that when a pillar is needed, it is delivered in the right order, at the right time, alongside what else is happening.
What Anova's Integrated Intake Looks Like
An integrated practice runs on a coordinated intake. Ours works roughly like this.
Step 1: Labs and Health History
Every new patient starts with a complete medical history review and baseline lab work where clinically appropriate. This includes hormone panels, metabolic markers, and any specialty labs the provider orders based on the patient's presenting concerns.
Step 2: Consultation
A provider spends a structured consultation walking through the patient's history, symptoms, and goals. The goal of this conversation is shared understanding — what is bothering the patient, what success looks like, and what the realistic options are.
Step 3: Coordinated Plan
Based on labs and consultation, the provider proposes a plan that may draw on multiple pillars. Plans are individualized and prioritized, so the patient is not committing to ten services on day one.
Step 4: Sequential Treatment
Treatments are scheduled in the order they will produce the best outcome. Foundational work first (hormone stabilization, micronutrient support), aesthetic work on top of that foundation, peptide therapy as part of an ongoing protocol rather than an add-on.
Step 5: Follow-Up and Adjustment
Plans are reviewed regularly. Labs are re-run as indicated. Symptoms are re-assessed. The plan evolves with the patient.
When Integrated Wellness Is Not the Right Fit
Honesty matters here. Integrated wellness is not the right model for every patient or every goal.
If a patient has a single, well-defined, acute need — a specific skin lesion, a single Botox touch-up before an event, a single IV session for jet lag — coordinated care is overkill. The right move is to address the specific concern efficiently and move on.
If a patient is not interested in labs, history review, or follow-up — if they want a prescription handed across the counter with no questions asked — they will be better served by a different kind of practice. Our intake is built around a clinical relationship. We do not skip it.
If a patient is looking for the cheapest possible version of a single treatment, integrated care is going to feel more expensive than the discount shop down the street. That is true. The value proposition is in the coordination, not in any individual prescription.
The Bottom Line
Single-modality practice produces single-modality results. If everything you want is one treatment — and it is well-matched to your body and your goals — that is fine. The trend-chasing model can deliver that.
If what you want is a coordinated plan that addresses more than one concern, or if your main concern has multiple drivers, integrated wellness is what produces outcomes you can sustain. It is also more work. Both are true.
At Anova Med Spa we practice the second model because the second model is what medicine actually looks like. If that is the kind of care you are looking for, the next step is a consultation. We will run labs, review your history, and tell you honestly whether an integrated plan makes sense for you — or whether the right answer is simpler than that.
